This is the event that mirrors the exciting innovation and growth across one of the world's most promising and greenest industries. Before Taipei CYCLE started 23 years ago it was a mere pavilion within TaiSPO. Since going solo it has grown into one of the world's three top bicycle trade shows.
With a massive national race, demo areas, design competitions and more, this event is not just a show but a festival, a movement that merges culture and business. The show venue at TWTC NANGANG Exhibition Hall from March 17 to 20 embraces the spirit of innovation and service — and that's likely why this show has outgrown all its previous venues to offer a global selection of bicycle products to tickle the imagination of the fussiest buyer.
2010 Taipei Cycle feature three main exhibit areas: - Complete bicycles - Bike parts & accessories - Light E-vehicles (LEV)
RECORD DEMAND PUSHES SHOW TO RAFTERS! Never in its 23 year history has there been a Taiwan CYCLE like this one. Booth demand from the 900-plus domestic and foreign suppliers has exceeded supply by 1,000 booths. These exhibitors will use 2,900 booths to field the largest show in the event's 23 year history. It is so large that show organizer TAITRA has extended the venue to NANGANG's sixth floor and is also doubling up the outdoor exhibition area in order to accommodate more suppliers and add more variety to the show.
Global turnout drives Taipei CYCLE 2010! Yes, there is hope for the planet judging by the globe turnout of exhibitors at the March event that are flying in from 32 countries including the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Among them are major manufacturers including Giant, Merida, Ideal, KENDA, SRAM, Maxxis, Shimano, Topeak, Fulcrum, Hayes, Campagnolo, Continental, Colnago, FSA, and DT Swiss. And nearby is the French National Pavilion which joins 14 renowned French suppliers including Time Sport.
This international venue even includes China Motor that's shifting its car tech muscle to R&D targeted at making even better E-bikes. Another new face will be Sanyo which has its best R&D people scrambling to create even better energy saving E-bikes. Better new still is that the number of electric bikes exhibits at the show has more than doubled over last year.
Fun-fill Show Packed with Special Events Like we said Taiwan CYCLE is more than just a show, but a movement and festival on cycling. There's a Pre-show Press Conference of Taipei Cycle and Bicycle Experience which takes place Nov. 17 that has invited seven reporters of bicycle magazines and the media from all over the world. These including Bicycle Retailer & Industry News of the United States, Cycle Press of Japan, SAZ Bike of Germany, Cycling Plus of the United Kingdom, Bicycling Australia, Solo Bici of Spain, and Wieler Revue of The Netherlands. These reporters will get the first peek preview on the latest products at the show and be treated to a ride down Danshui Bike Trail to experience Taiwan's quality products and riding environment.
Racing with the future! Other supporting events including Tour de Taiwan, LEV Conference, International Bicycle Design Competition, Taiwan Cycle Night, display of winners of the Annual Innovative Products Competition Award and contenders of the International Bicycle Design Competition, and outdoor bicycle test drives that bring more variety and enhance the overall quality of the show. Note also that the Tour de Taiwan, organized by TAITRA and Chinese Taipei Cycling Association, has been included as part of the Olympic qualifying events in Asia. It takes place over seven legs and eight days from Sunday March 14 to Saturday March 20. On the final day the competition ends with its final stop at TWTC to connect with Taipei CYCLE 2010.
DESIGNING A BETTER SET OF WHEELS The Int'l Bicycle Design Competition during its 14-year history has received 10,372 excellent creative designs from 86 countries. In this coming competition 21 entries have been short listed from 920 entries from 59 countries and a NT$500,000 prize will be award to the top product. Meanwhile the market oriented LEV Forum will focus on the prototype presentation of Energybus, a connector for LEVs, and safety of LEVs, which is currently at the center of much attention across Europe.
For the convenience of international buyers, the organizer is providing free shuttle services between Taoyuan International Airport and NANGANG Exhibition Hall and between NANGANG MRT station and the hotels. Note that since last July Taipei's mass transit MRT line has opened direct travel links to NANGANG EXHIBITION HALL. And that's another option for those international visitors.
Anvii Co., Ltd. will have a booth on L106. Come to experience the eye-catching bicycle wheel lights.
